Down to Earth Women Luncheon 2011 A Big Success

Luncheon had record attendance over 170 women!

“DOWN TO EARTH WOMEN” LUNCHEON…ANOTHER VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENT

The 4th Annual Down to Earth Women (DEW) Luncheon was held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Driscoll’s Rancho Corralitos in Watsonville.  This event is supported by women involved in, or supporting, agriculture in Santa Cruz County and the Pajaro Valley.  The purpose of the luncheon is to raise funds for Agri-Culture’s Focus Agriculture program, the Jimmie Cox Memorial Scholarship fund and the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau’s school programs.

This year’s featured speaker for the event was Megan Martinelli, S. Martinelli & Company and community volunteer who spoke on the topic “Apple of my Eye”.  

Also speaking at the event was Laura Rider, who spoke about her experience as a participant in Agri-Culture’s Focus Agriculture program and Clint “CJ” Miller, the 2011 Jimmie Cox Memorial Scholarship recipient.
